Nepal is well known as one of the best destinations in the world for enjoying the real beauty of nature one of the best ways to truly get close to the experience is through trekking. Trekking into the interior parts of the country often follows ancient foot-trails that have been laid down for many centuries where people from the north travelled to Kathmandu and beyond to trade and do business. These trails meander along scenic riverbanks, intricately terraced fields and the forested ridges that connect picturesque hamlets and mountain villages. You walk along the roughly way but it’s beautiful trails and sometimes near virgin tracks depending on your destination and choice of trek. Vegetation at lower altitudes is often lush and on many treks there are majestic, colourful and dense rhododendron forests along the trail. A variety of domestic and forest animals can be seen along with a huge variety of birds. Other attractions include Hindu and Buddhist temples and of course with a backdrop of the highest mountain range on earth and most friendly and accepting people there is no other walking of hiking experience quite like it anywhere in the world. It is possible to trek throughout the year depending on where you want to go. However, the most popular seasons are spring (February-May) and autumn (September-November).
